Akasha is staffed with a dedicated team of test preparation specialists. We can work with your child to improve his or her test-taking skills and share tips on how to approach standardized tests and their related challenges. By assessing your child's strengths and trouble spots, we can develop a customized test preparation program designed to help his or her scores improve. Founder & Director Melissa Berman has the experience and the heart to help your child succeed. She is an educator with over 20 years of teaching experience with Elementary through College students and has built Akasha over the past 12 years. Melissa was named Teacher of the Year at her Middle school in 2009, and in 2011 she was named Broward County Middle School Math Teacher of the Year. Melissa has a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Pennsylvania State University and a Master’s Degree in the Science of Teaching Mathematics through the National Science Foundation (NSF) in partnership with Florida Atlantic University.
